Copperhead Industries

Headquarters: Copperhead Hold

At the time the copper boom failed, among the multitude of corporations working the belt, two companies stood far above the rest. Sternmetal Horizons (who still maintains a small office at the Starport and a couple of small facilities nearby) is, of course, one of the Imperial Megacorporations, a massive Imperium-spanning corporate entity; the officers of which are commonly Imperial nobles. The other corporation, however, was a local entity: Copperhead Industries. The copper boom had begun with the record-setting copper strike by the conglomerate that became Copperhead Industries. Sternmetal, with it’s Imperium scale resources and infrastructure, of course overpowered Copperhead and took the bulk of the copper in the belt for themselves. Copperhead Industries was still raking it in though, for nearly a century their asteroid headquarters at Copper Canyon was a port-destination in its own right… until the boom went bust.
Until recently, Copperhead Industries still operated at least three facilities in the belt. One of them was their current corporate headquarters: a space station known as Copperhead Hold. The other two (including the once esteemed Copper Canyon) are former resort recreation facilities that now served as shantytowns and trade/information hubs for all sorts of shady dealings (up to and including assassinations, kidnappings, slave trading, and arms dealing.
Copperhead Industries entered into a rapidly escalating trade-war with Roguhu Industries which not-at-all coincidentally coincided with the early stages of the Fifth Frontier War.
